Innovasea’s NexTrak system is ushering in a new era of science, collaboration and discovery for aquatic animal researchers. It delivers new technologies, improved performance and more data, enabling researchers to explore new habitats and devise creative new approaches to their work.
Built on digital technology, the NexTrak R1 is a 69 kHz receiver that provides significantly better range and coverage, enhanced data sets and higher resolution – all while improving ease of use and providing a better long-term value than earlier tracking systems.
USE CASES
- Study areas that include noisy, challenging environments
- Research involving a lot of tagged fish where previous technology would have been prone to tag collisions
- Researchers who are on a tight budget and looking to do more with limited resources
- Newcomers to acoustic telemetry looking for easy deployment and data retrieval without a steep
learning curve
BENEFITS
40 percent greater range than previous receivers. This reduces the number of receivers required to cover the same area, lowering total cost of ownership.
Twice as many detections as previous receivers. The NexTrak R1 advanced processor does a better job filtering out noise and decoding pings from transmitters, resulting in more detections and increased detections of unique animals.
Higher quality data. Signal strength data and enhanced post-processing capabilities enable researchers to tackle deeper questions about animal behavior.
Excellent performance in noisy environments. The NexTrak R1 works well in challenging conditions – including environments with ambient noise greater than 650 millivolts.
More opportunities for researchers to collaborate worldwide thanks to Innovasea’s industry-leading global presence, which includes more than 30,000 receivers and 120,000 active tags.
